How do I become a member? And what are the benefits?
Memberships cost $30 and last for one year. Signing up is as easy as filling in a simple form agreeing to the Zone Empire Rules and Regulations. Members receive 3 free games discounted game prices each time they play and an electronic membership chip. The chip can be used to personalise the pack to the players individual alias (nick-name) and can also be used in the Members terminal located in the X-Box foyer to edit details or look up rankings and scores. Members also receive privileges such as access to Members nights and entry into League Tournaments, and other member orientated events where games are all discounted.
Is there a dress code?
Yes, a t-shirt or equivalent must be worn. Bare feet and thongs are not permitted, high heels are not permitted. It is advised that singlet tops are not worn due to the nature of the packs, some people may find them uncomfortable.
What safety precautions are there?
Each player is given a full briefing prior to the game. The briefing includes useful information such as how to score points and also details the rules of play and safety procedures. A game marshal patrols each game to deter inappropriate behaviour. Emergency exits are strategically placed throughout the maze in the event of an emergency.
Are the games supervised?
There is a game marshal in each game who has the authority to terminate the game or remove individuals should there be a breach of safety or inappropriate behaviour such as physical contact or abusive language. Guests at Zone Empire play at their own risk, and should be aware of the risks before entering the arena. The marshal is not accountable for any injuries that occur due to inappropriate behaviour.
Are there age limits?
The minimum age for players is 8 years of age. Laser Tag is a physical activity played in a dimly lit multi-level mazes which contains ramps, obstacles, strobe lights, loud music and other players. It is often too scary for some children; also the weight and size of the pack can be too heavy.
Are there rules about alcohol consumption?
The staff have the right to refuse anyone entry to Zone Empire, and can remove players from the game if they exhibit signs of intoxication. Anyone caught consuming alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave the premises.
How big is the Arena?
The Playing arena is roughly 450 square meters. This area includes the entire bottom level, the three mid-level platforms, and the top corridors leading to the exit.
Is the laser safe?
The phaser (gun) contains a built-in laser pointer. This pointer activates for less than a second when the trigger is pulled. The lasers are safe for children to use and comply with Australian standards of safety.
